NetPhysics deployment 0.5.0 — 20 October 2026

The ZIP root contains index.php, assets/, downloads/, private/, .htaccess and .user.ini.
It does not contain a public_html/ or public/ wrapper. Extract the ZIP CONTENTS into
the domain document root (called public or public_html by many hosts).

Before replacing an existing installation, keep a backup and preserve any live-only
mail/configuration settings. Review private/config.php against your host configuration;
do not overwrite live secrets with placeholder settings. Use PHP and Apache versions
compatible with the existing site and keep private/ blocked from HTTP access.

After extracting, open https://netphysics.com/version.txt?build=2026-10-20-r5-measured .
It must report Release 0.5.0 and Build 2026-10-20-r5-measured.
Open /projects/metabolic-scaling/ and check the 573-species result and new figures.
The footer should show 0.5.0. Test navigation and the contact form on the host.
If old content persists: verify you extracted into the domain's actual document root,
then purge host/CDN page caches and refresh. A local ZIP is not a deployed website.

Keep the ZIP outside the public document root after extraction. Do not publish the
full deployment ZIP as a research deposit; use the research-only archive in downloads/releases/.
