FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 20 October 2026 NetPhysics adds a measured mammal benchmark and publishes an unfavorable primary result NetPhysics, Christopher Hill's independent research project, has prepared release 0.5.0 with a retrospective analysis of the published PanTHERIA mammal dataset. Source provenance, inclusion/exclusion records, code, predictions and sensitivities are included. Among 573 eligible species, a continuous hinge fixed at 10 kg did not improve prediction on the primary family holdout: RMSE 0.200464 log10 W versus 0.198095 for a single line. Alternative splits and models are reported, including a modestly different result under five-fold family cross-validation. This does not establish a universal breakpoint or prove the absence of all biological curvature. The update also revises proposed acoustic and elastomer protocols. Those physical experiments have not been performed. Numerical checks and retrospective analysis do not establish new physics or validate a universal NetPhysics model. Source: Jones et al.
