Built to be explored in more than one way.
Accessibility / Current support
The research chapters and source records are server-rendered HTML and can be read without JavaScript. Search filters, saved reading lists, calculators, the model lab, contribution workflow, literature search and the scale model require JavaScript.
Keyboard and motion
Navigation and forms use labeled controls with visible keyboard focus. The model lab includes textual metrics and downloadable data. The scale explorer supplies buttons and keyboard camera controls alongside dragging. Reduced-motion preferences are respected by the explorer, and animation can be paused. Concept models have textual context and limits outside the canvas.
Readable layouts
Pages reflow for narrow screens. Technical equations are text rather than images. Source citations link to the original records. The article print stylesheet removes navigation and decorative interface elements. Browser zoom is supported.
Known limitations
A canvas illustration does not have a complete nonvisual equivalent; the level descriptions provide the intended conceptual information. Source documents hosted elsewhere may have accessibility limitations. This edition has not undergone a formal accessibility audit or end-to-end assistive-technology testing.
